$1Trial period for 3 days. Check People also charged an additional $6.99 for one report - Non-Refundable, of course... plus a $29 monthly fee preauthorization. Called immediately and waited on hold for 16 minutes before foreign operator named "MIKE" - LOL, answered. Said there was a checkbox authorizing the $6.99 for reports. I never could find it after trying to recreate it. He offered two different offers for cheaper monthly rate to stay a member, but I cancelled anyways. This company evidently has to hide their fees.

False advertising of "free public information," at the end of sign up Check People ask for your credit card information to bill you for the FREE information. They showed that I was ONLY paying for $1 sign up fee. That the original price was $10 and it was 90% off today. I accepted the $1 fee ONLY. Then within less than an hour my BANK texts me and alerts me of FRAUD by checkpeople.com! They tried to transfer $7 out of my account WITHOUT my authorization or without making me aware of it! They did NOT explain why they were taking any amount of money that was not a part of my sign up fee from MY ACCOUNT! I've heard from BBB reviews that it gets WORSE through the month. They say that they try to prolong you account cancellation so that they can transfer nearly $50 out of your account EVERY MONTH for services you did not opt for! I made a detailed report to the BBB and am BLOCKING checkpeople.com for ANY further charges and repeated attempted charges.

In August 2020 I used their service one time and canceled my membership in September 2020. Come December 24th Check People took $30 out of my account without an email to explaining why they did this. I called that day and spoke to customer service (who was very hard to understand). She told me that she would reverse the charges and expect an email that day. Today is December 27 an no email and charges were not reversed. I find it suspicious that the money was withdrawn on Christmas Eve. This company has stolen money from me! Do not trust them with your credit card or bank account.

We used them for ONE background search under the impression that we were paying for the one time use. We pulled the report which was terrible and told us nothing that you can't find on a basic google search. We looked at the ONE report ONE time and never visited the website again. Apparently when you pay for the one report Check People automatically sign you up for monthly drafts of $29.16. I called and talked to a "customer service representative" that told me that the info was in the terms and agreements that we agreed to, when I asked him to send me the terms and agreement that I signed and agreed to he told me that he couldn't send them to me. He said that because he had my email address that was "enough proof" that I had agreed to terms that he couldn't even provide to me. When I was on the phone with the representative I could clearly hear another representative giving the same bogus response to another unhappy person in the background. Fraudulent billing practices for a junk service!

Here is an honest review of the tool. First, from a customer experience standpoint, the site is extremely easy to use and efficient. From the moment you land on their site, everything is quite clear. The search functionality is very easy to use and extremely efficient. Results are accurate and well presented. Originally I didn't understand the billing system (maybe that could be slightly clearer) however if you read it through a few times, you get it. I took the basic subscription, however after using it quite a few times and having a need to use it more frequently, I'm considering upgrading. I plan to call in to get a better understanding of what's included in the premium subscription, however I think that with my use it will make more sense for me. All in all, I'm happy with the product and its results. Would refer it.

I'm new to this campus and I'm staying with a friend for now but am going to start interviewing possible roommates soon. I'm always about meeting up with a stranger at Starbucks, so I started to use Check People to search the person first to be sure I knew all I could find out about them in advance. I always look them up n Facebook or Instagram first, but Check People gives you so much more information in advance that I can filter out anyone I don't need to go meet. Saves me a lot of time and wasted energy meeting up with people I could have ignored based on their results. Would suggest this site to anyone looking up anyone.

If you don't want to be tricked into paying for a subscription you never applied for, I'd steer clear of this site. I never signed up for a trial subscription, and yet I saw a monthly charge for it on my bank account. I inform support of this and ask for a refund, and guess what my answer was? Check People got my payment info because I bought another product off their site for $2.33, and they used my credit card info to bill me for this bs subscription, and then they won't give it back if you call them out on it. It's a website run by thieves.

My fiance and I are planning on sending our wedding invitations out soon and we didn't want to bother everyone for their addresses so we signed up for Check People which I had read about on a wedding blog. We're so happy we did! Their website is so easy to use and once you simply search a person's name and enter a bit of information you have on them, you can really find everything you need to know! This just simplified our lives sooo much because who has time to message everyone by text or messenger and wait for them to get back to you with their address and stuff?! We just sat down one night and looked everyone up and were able to mail out our invitations the very next day! All brides and grooms should use this site to simplify your wedding planning process.

From a user experience level, this site is extremely efficient and easy to use. It is straightforward and the results are clear and concise. Check People are clear about what the results will read and the billing associate to the different subscription options. If you have any questions, just call their toll free number and they're pretty helpful. I only came across one run in which I needed to address with someone and it was very easy to rectify. They answered my call right away and were knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend upgraded to the premium option depending on your needs and use of their system. Overall, I'm satisfied with my experience using this website.

I signed up thinking I was going to be able to background check myself for $1 then immediately checked my back statement only to find out I had be charged $6.99 plus another charge for $29.17. Check People definitely scam you out of your money! I argued with them over the charges for awhile and the people you get on the phone when you call for some reason can't refund all your money. They make you jump through hoops to get it and send an email to someone else to dispute it. Complete scam!

I tried this site, but the link Check People sent me is broken or something is wrong. I use Windows 10 and Android. I tried to open it from four different browsers, two different devices, multiple different settings, etc and all I got is either a white blank page or a grey one. If I try to reload either it would do nothing or cannot be reloaded at all. I ran out of ideas. Why would I pay for their "services" if I cannot even see what they could offer? What I could see in the "preview" or whatever you call it was a load of certainly outdated information.

Check People "say" your FIRST lookup is "free." NOT! Then they "say" for $1 you can search for 3 days. NOT! When you go to their website they say for $4.99 you can search for 5 days. NOT! They will ALSO bill your card $2.33. I called and discontinued service. They tried to sell me a membership but I declined. I even got a cancellation confirmation number. The NEXT day they ALSO charged me $2.33. I called AGAIN and they LIED, saying I had accepted a membership, and that there's no way to reverse the charges. Oh yeah? It's called BANK FRAUD. Contact your bank's fraud dept., and THEY will reverse charges. Look up these charlatans on trustpilot too. They are KNOWN con artists!

This site is very easy to navigate and use. I've tried different websites and this is really want sets it apart. I use this site often because I buy and sell second hand cars. Sometimes the deals I find are too good to be true so I use Check People to be sure the person I'm dealing with is legit and everything he or she says is truthful. The results give me the peace of mind I look for in determining if the sale is going to be worth it or not to meet up with people ahead of time. Both buyers and sellers can be looked up and I'm definitely going to be keeping this account due to the ease of their site as well as the accurate and quick results it provides.

DO NOT trust these people! Check People advertise that if you cancel within the 5 day trial they won't bill you; however, that's a lie. I canceled within an hour of activating the 5 day free trial and within 24 hours they billed me for a monthly service ($29.16). I contacted them immediately and they acknowledged that there was an error on their end and they'd refund my money. But in taking money they were not authorized to, they screwed up my account and I have yet to hear a response from them. Nine days ago. These people are scammers! There are better/more credible sites to use. DO NOT GIVE THESE SCAMMERS YOUR INFO, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!

I was planning a family BBQ to celebrate my parents anniversary and I wanted to try my best to keep it a surprise from them. I used Check People to locate the addresses of friends and distant family members of my parents. The website and results were excellent! I was able to find everyone I was looking for as well as the right addresses to send the invitations to. I couldn't have found a better way of doing this to keep this as a surprise and I will definitely be using this site more when looking to find people and their addresses int he future.

Check People promise in 10 minutes if u sign up it will give u 3 day access to any search. After that if you do not cancel it will cost $29.16 /month. However then you agree and press submit and they do not take $1 from your account they take $29.16. They say that only $1 will be deducted and it states this line in about 10 different places including their billing terms. They are obviously lying. I get paid later today but had $5 on my card so I thought I would try it. My card kept getting declined so I pulled up my bank info and it told me how they were trying to deduct $29.16. Thankfully it was declined that's such crap. I would not do business with them if I were u. Who knows what else they will lie to u about and charge u with.
***Actually I just read the terms of service which basically say they charge u with more than 1 service fee when u sign up so I guess they do tell u in the fine print. But irregardless they still false advertise where they tell u only $1 will be deducted from your card.

Paid for a background check, price agreed to was 1$, Check People charged 30$ On top of that. I cancelled my subscription the same day, and received an email confirmation, but unfortunately I deleted it. When I called their customer service line to explain to them about my cancellation because I got another $30 charge and it hasn't even been 2 weeks from the first time, the guy did not want to hear me out he was too busy mansplaining to me. This "service" is a scam. At least now I no longer have to Deal with them.

"Just a small monthly fee" yeah $#*!ing right. When I first signed up it charged me $1. Then the same day it charged an extra $7. Fast forward two days and my account is charged another $49.99. Customer service is awful; I've been trying to cancel my subscription ever since that $49.99 charged my account. Only $#*!ty companies make it this hard to cancel a subscription. Legit companies let you cancel with ease; no calls with customer service and cancelling is a breeze within the website/app. I wouldn't give your card info to any sites like this, EVER. You don't need these people lookup services. Learn from our mistakes, people!

Shady company that have hidden charges! It says. 99cent but actually pre authorize your card for $29.16! Does not HIGHLIGHT A 3 day trial! Offers a pdf option does not highlight a $6.99 charge! Check People will not refund you either on the phone they want you to write them a letter even though you never used the feature and calling a few hours later!

DO NOT GIVE THESE COMPANIES ACCESS TO YOUR BANK! That's why they do not take Capitol 1! They want you checking information for a reason!

Any company that doesn't take a CREDIT CARD IS USUALLY A SCAM! They know it's a easy dispute!

Check People charged my card 5 times in 3 days for services I didn't ask for or want! $29.16, $8.99, $6.99 $1 and another $29.16! I didnt want authorize or ask for any of their services and they refuse to refund my money! Horrible customer service. My guess is that they are used to people being busy and they obviously charge additional unwanted and unauthorized charges and are very used to hearing the same phone calls from ppl they have stolen from and have been coached well on how to refuse to make anything right. Very nasty negative customer "service" representatives. Spoke to 3 different customer service reps and all I have to say is WOW! Didnt realize there were "businesses" like that in this day and age when every dollar counts so much. Just awful. They didn't deserve the one star.
