12 customer reviews of carshop.co.uk

We bought a car and bought it back the same day (2 hours later) as we noticed three chips in the windscreen. We were told by the member of staff at reception that they will be able to fix this for us and a manager would be in touch. After chasing for 1 week, 4 phone calls later we have finally received a call back to say that they will not fix this as it is not covered by warranty and "it could have happened at any time". I can assure you that it did not happen in the 2 hours after we drove the car away and was not noticeable until we could see it whilst driving the car in the daylight. I am disgusted in the "customer service" that we have been provided, firstly having to wait and chase for this long to be told that it is not their responsibility. I do not like to be accused of lying as this is not the case. Customer aftercare has been an absolute shambles and we are extremely disappointed. I expect responsibility to be taken by the Car Shop.
As an additional comment, the pressure that is put on you to buy additional products and the business manager that dealt with the sale was extremely un-friendly and rude.
I would expect a lot more from a company owned by the Sytner Group.
Overall, my customer journey has been awful. I highly do not recommend a purchase from this company.

Don’t go there a load of cowboys their aftersa

I am really disappointed to write this review as think that this place got potential and perhaps we have been unlucky. However I feel I need to warn other buyers. Our experience was not best to say the least. First view of the car some sensors came up with faults, car was not cleaned in and out, buttons not working. We were apologised and promised this will be all rectified. Came after few days, this was our second visit and travel 40 miles there and back. Sit in the shop for 5 hrs for paperwork to be sorted ,no drink offered as all the machines were broken apparently. Through the selling process we have been pushed to take Gradex service for £300 extra, that would cover the car with special protection in and out and was promised it will be valeted before. After 2h waiting we finally got the car, jumped straight in trusting all is sorted to go back home as nearly closing time for the shop. While driving back the chemicals smells make me sick and after arrival at home and inspection they covered all the dirt and dust with this protection product. The car was not valeted at all. We have registered the complaint but no one came back. So for whoever buy from this place do not get fooled for those extra products they offer, and there are loads,if I was not working in insurance I would probably been convinced to take all of those extra products but I can only assume how other perform looking at this simple valet service. Very disappointed indeed

Literally sold an unroadworthy car. Car was making a terrible noise as well as noisy power steering day after purchase reported to them told they couldn't get it in for 38 days but that it was safe to drive as it just pasted an mot. Took in was accused of lying about the noise till I took the mechanic out in it who found it to have a broken coil spring so wasn't safe to drive and shouldn't of passed mot. Repaired I picked it up still excessively noisey steering and then a brake warning light came on took straight back to be called a liar again because the light went off. Said I wanted to exchange the car to be told there isn't anything wrong with the car and the steering probably needs oil. Now having to involve the finance company motor ombudsman dvsa trading standards etc have not had car for a week now. Wakefield manager and Manchester brand manager saying that I won't get anywhere with this and to pick car up. But if they seen it within 30 days there would have been no issue they not bothered the car should have never passes an mot and all their checks. Disgusting service and attitude and basically told to take car and trade it in thus losing myself money but as they said they lose money if they swap it so a big company like that is more concerned about themselves losing money than the fact I was driving a dangerous car

Purchased a car from the Bristol branch. Worst car purchase experience I have had out of the roughly 10 cars my wife and I have purchased. I would not recommend them and would give them 0 stars.
The main salesperson we dealt with was terrible, zero customer care. His sales approach felt like a 2 hour disclaimer of what is not covered and what Carshop was not responsible for and he couldn’t answer most of our questions to our satisfaction. Actually felt like he didn’t want to deal with us and wanted to get rid of us, and felt as though he had some underlying issues when dealing with us.
They try very hard to up-sell you on products and services like paint and upholstery protection, Advantage plan and their discounted service plan. Be sure you know what you need. Despite me declining the paint and upholstery protection the salesperson persisted in trying to convince me for a further 10 minutes, asking me to explain my decision not to take it and even asking me to sign a document acknowledging I declined the service. Absolutely ridiculous!
Also be pedantic when viewing the vehicle. Take pictures. After we had paid and signed the purchase agreement they “prepared” the vehicle and it came back with at least two scratches and a tiny dent which wasn’t there initially. The salesperson insisted they could not have caused “so many” damages in the valet service and that we didn’t take note of the damage before the purchase. He also said it’s not their responsibility to take note of all scratches and it’s a used car. Fortunately my wife did take pictures. This is also the reason why I didn’t take the service plan or other products. They seem to take no responsibility/ liability of any kind and I wouldn’t be comfortable handing over a vehicle to them. I didn’t trust that they would show due care for the vehicle or even that they would be equally competent as a manufacturers dealership when servicing the vehicle. The discounted service would not be worth the risk they posed.

Please dont shop here, cars are terrible and will have no end of problems and they will book you in months to come. customer service is shocking takes hours to get through. no refund policy either, total joke

Problems with car from day 1 . Numerous emails and phone calls to customer services. False promises of reply phone calls . Nxt step trading standards . Avoid at all costs

I noticed that carshop Warrington has recently sold my wifes old BMW 116d, YB65FBO. This car was sold with multiple failts to we buy any car, priced accordingly. The car runs on 60% power due to a faulty inlet manifold which BMW quoted £1200 to repair. This is on top of a noisy whirring noise that was never found and resolved. The front brake discs are also warped and judder when braki g at over 60mph. Hoping that these issues were resolved before sale but highly doubt it so I’m hoping the new owner sees this and does some checks.

I hadn’t even got to view the car before hard sell tactics. Wanting a deposit just to view the car as ‘that how it works’ I’m told. Pretty sure if I’d left £99 and didn’t want the vehicle, it wouldn’t be put back in my account the same day.

The after sales is totally shocking . Don’t buy from them

Carshop Sheffield have a system in place where you pay £99 deposit to put a car on hold. If you do not purchase the car the deposit is returned straight back to you.
On Friday 18.02.22 this payment was made over the phone. On 19.02.22 I visited the shop the car was not purchased. It is now the 24.02.22 I am still waiting for my refund I have called 3 times in the last 3 days and been told that I will receive a call and they would chase up what is going on still nothing. Absolutely shocking the way they lie about things to get you to fall into the trap for me it is the principal shocking.

One star is now too much for Carshop Wakefield. Sold the car as having sat nav, no sd card in the car and Freddy who was selling us the car said the sd card was with the keys, this now appears to be lie number 1. When we picked the car up we were told there was no sd card and that only customer services could sort this and this would be sorted last Monday, this appears to be lie number 2. We contacted customer services on the Saturday and they knew
nothing about a request for a sd card and they couldn't deal with it and has to be the branch at Wakefield and promised a call back on Monday, this is lie number 3 as no call back was received which is not surprising to be honest. Now forced us down the path of the car being missold as there is no working Sat nav as advertised and will be claiming through consumer credit act and small claims court now. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
